What is ChatHop?
ChatHop lets you move an AI conversation from one supported AI service to another while preserving the full conversation context — so you never copy-paste or re-explain anything.

How to use ChatHop
- Open a supported AI conversation.
- Open ChatHop.
- Choose a reason.
- Choose your destination.
- Review the transferred context and send it.
Copy Full Chat / Copy Last Response
- Copy Full Chat — the entire conversation, in order, copied to your clipboard.
- Copy Last Response — just the latest assistant reply.
Paste it into a document, email, notes app, code editor, Slack, another AI, or anywhere else you choose.
Plain text vs Markdown + file download
Plain text keeps it simple: each turn labeled User or Assistant. Best for email and notes apps.
Markdown adds ## headings per speaker, preserving structure like code blocks. Best for docs, editors, and other AIs.
Toggle the format with the Plain text / Markdown buttons, then:
- Copy it to your clipboard, or
- ⬇ Download chat file — saves the full conversation as a real .md file (Markdown selected) or .txt (plain text selected), named after the conversation and dated.
Downloads land in your browser's normal Downloads folder.
20 uses a month
You receive 20 free uses every month. No signup, no password, no card required to start.
Your allowance refills at the start of each month, and unused uses don't roll over.
Failed transfers, retries, and error fallbacks never consume a use.
ChatHop Pro subscription
Pro removes the cap entirely: unlimited uses.
Upgrade inside the extension: click Upgrade to Pro, pick Monthly ($4.99/month) or Yearly ($39/year · save 35%), and check out securely through Stripe.
No ChatHop account or password — your subscription is managed by Stripe's secure portal via Manage subscription.
Restore Pro
Click Restore Pro in the extension and ChatHop opens a secure restore page where you verify the email used for your subscription — no password to remember.
- Click “Restore purchase” in the extension. A secure page opens in a new tab.
- Enter the email you paid with. We email a one-time 6-digit code.
- Enter the code on the page. The device is linked instantly.
Then reopen ChatHop — Pro syncs automatically. No page reloads, no refresh hunting.
Auto-send
Auto-send OFF (default): ChatHop places the conversation in the destination composer and leaves it there for you to review. Nothing is sent until you say so.
Auto-send ON: ChatHop submits for you once the conversation lands successfully.
Find it in extension Settings (⚙). It stays off until you explicitly enable it.
What if the conversation is extremely large?
ChatHop attempts to preserve the entire extracted conversation.
If the destination cannot accept the complete conversation in one paste while Auto-send is off, ChatHop keeps the complete handoff available through its clipboard fallback rather than silently deleting messages.
Troubleshooting
ChatHop does not detect my conversation
- Make sure you're on a supported AI website.
- Click Retry in ChatHop if it's shown.
- Close and reopen ChatHop.
- Check that the extension is enabled in your browser.
- Only if ChatHop still can't connect: reload the AI page.
The destination AI did not open correctly
- Try the transfer again.
- Make sure pop-ups or new tabs aren't blocked.
- Confirm you're logged in to the destination service.
My conversation was not transferred correctly
- Refresh both services and retry the transfer.
- Make sure the source conversation is fully loaded before opening ChatHop.
